Ward 8 Tough

A Fighter For Our Families

Why I'm Running.

For too long, Ward 8 has elected representatives who have defended politics as usual and protected the status quo, while families pay the price.

We need an experienced leader who will fight for our neighbourhoods every single day, not a career politician, but a neighbour who has already proven he will show up. I am running for City Council because Ward 8 deserves an independent voice — not a rubber stamp or party line vote.

I have spent the last 24 years delivering real results for our community, and I will bring that neighborhood-first focus to City Hall to build homes people can afford, finish transit lines on time, and make our streets safe again.

The Plan for Ward 8

Three Priorities. One Ward. A Clear Plan.

Big goals, backed by direct local action. This is what Enzo will fight for from day one, built for families, workers, seniors, and merchants.

01

Affordable Homes and Responsible Growth

The Big Idea
A home you can afford, in a community you love.
What we will do
  • Bring down prices and rents so families, young workers, and seniors can stay here.
  • Build more homes, but make sure roads, schools, and parks come first.
  • Protect the unique feel of our neighbourhoods by listening to local residents.
02

Faster Commutes and Better Transit

The Big Idea
Less time stuck in traffic, more time with family.
What we will do
  • Fix gridlock and cut down long commute times across the city.
  • Stop the delays on major transit lines and finish projects on time.
  • Make sure roads, subways, buses, and bike lanes work smoothly together.
03

Safe Streets, Safe Transit, and Real Support

The Big Idea
Safe neighbourhoods, secure transit, and care for those in need.
What we will do
  • Make our neighbourhoods, parks, and the TTC safe and welcoming again.
  • Get immediate help to people struggling with mental health and addiction.
  • Replace homelessness with permanent housing and proper support services.
The Enzo Difference

Real Accountability. A Councillor Who Answers to You.

For too long, Ward 8 residents have felt the gap between what is promised at City Hall and what is actually delivered on our streets. Construction drags on, costs climb, and feedback disappears into a one-way conversation.

Enzo Torrone offers something different. An independent voice, grounded in 24 years of community work, who measures every decision against one test: does this make life better for the families of Eglinton-Lawrence?

The Status Quo
The Enzo Difference
Partisan alignment over neighbourhood priorities
Independent, common sense representation
Budget increases approved by default
Fiscal discipline applied to every city vote
Construction disruption left to drag on
Strict accountability to finish projects on time
Community feedback acknowledged but rarely acted on
A Community Voice platform so residents are always heard
The Full Platform

What Enzo Will Fight For

Public Safety policing
Priority 01

Public Safety and Community Policing

Safe streets, safe parks, and a safe TTC are the foundation of everything. Enzo will expand the community policing model he built through "Coffee with a Cop", push for brighter street lighting, and grow youth and senior programming.

Residential construction development
Priority 02

Responsible Development

Protect our neighbourhoods from overdevelopment. Enzo will fight for growth that fits, with roads, schools, and parks built before the towers, genuine consultation on projects, and homes that families can afford.

Traffic intersection cars commute
Priority 03

Traffic and Congestion

Less time in traffic, more time with family. Enzo will demand strict accountability to finish the Eglinton Crosstown and end the delays, smarter traffic management to cut gridlock, and real coordination.

Financial budget auditing
Priority 04

Fiscal Accountability

Audit City spending and respect your tax dollars. Ward 8 pays among the highest property taxes in Toronto, so Enzo will scrutinise every line of the budget, cut bureaucratic waste, and protect the basics.

Local town hall consulting community
Priority 05

Resident Engagement

A City Hall that actually listens. Enzo will hold regular town halls across the ward, run a responsive local office with real staff, and keep an open Community Voice platform.

Small local business storefront
Priority 06

Small Business and Main Street Vitality

Our main streets are the heart of Ward 8. Drawing on 24 years of BIA leadership, Enzo will win rapid relief for businesses hit by Crosstown construction, faster permits, and real partnerships.
